MDCAT Aggregate Calculator 2026 for MBBS and BDS Merit

Our MDCAT aggregate calculator adds your Matric, FSc and MDCAT marks with the official weights of 10%, 40% and 50%. It shows your merit, the share of each exam and the MDCAT score you need for a target aggregate.

How to Use the MDCAT Aggregate Calculator

Type your Matric marks and the Matric total first. Do the same for FSc, then add your MDCAT score out of 180. The MDCAT aggregate calculator updates the result on every key press, so there is no button to press.

The results box shows your aggregate to four decimal places, because merit lists are often separated at that level. Below it you see how much each exam added, your MDCAT percentage and whether it clears the pass mark. Switch the first menu to MDCAT marks needed to work backwards in the merit calculator from a target.

If your university uses other weights, pick Custom weights and enter them. The three weights must add up to 100 before the tool gives a result.

The Official Aggregate Formula for 2026-27

The Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department notified the MBBS and BDS admission policy for session 2026-27 on 14 October 2026. University of Health Sciences Lahore runs the central admissions under it. The merit formula in that notification gives MDCAT 50% weight, FSc 40% and Matric 10%.

ExamWeightShare in your merit
MDCAT50%MDCAT marks ÷ 180 × 50
FSc (Pre Medical) or HSSC40%FSc marks ÷ FSc total × 40
Matric or SSC10%Matric marks ÷ Matric total × 10

Add the three shares and you have your aggregate out of 100. Our merit calculator uses exactly these weights in its default mode. We read them from the UHS copy of the notification, not from a coaching site.

Worked Example With Real Numbers

Take a student with 1100 out of 1200 in Matric, 1020 out of 1200 in FSc and 162 out of 180 in MDCAT. Matric gives 1100 ÷ 1200 × 10 = 9.1667. FSc gives 1020 ÷ 1200 × 40 = 34.0000 and MDCAT gives 162 ÷ 180 × 50 = 45.0000.

The aggregate is 9.1667 + 34 + 45 = 88.1667%. These are the demo values that load in the MDCAT aggregate calculator, so you can check the sum yourself. Change any box and the shares update at once.

The same student wants a 90% merit next year. The merit calculator subtracts the fixed Matric and FSc shares from 90, divides by 50 and multiplies by 180. The answer is 168.6, so the student needs 169 marks in MDCAT.

Why MDCAT Marks Matter Most

One MDCAT mark is worth 50 ÷ 180 = 0.2778% of your aggregate. One FSc mark out of 1200 is worth only 0.0333%, and one Matric mark is worth 0.0083%. So a single MDCAT mark equals about 8 FSc marks.

By the time you sit MDCAT your board marks are usually fixed. Every extra correct answer in the test moves your merit more than anything else you can still change. The note under the merit calculator results shows this value for the totals you typed.

  • 5 more MDCAT marks add about 1.39% to the aggregate.
  • 10 more MDCAT marks add about 2.78%, which can move you many places on a merit list.
  • 50 more FSc marks out of 1200 add only 1.67%.

MDCAT Score to Aggregate Share

The table shows what common MDCAT scores add to your aggregate under the 50% weight. Add your Matric and FSc shares to any row to get a quick estimate. The merit calculator does the same sum with your exact marks.

The last two rows are the pass marks for MBBS and BDS. A score below them does not qualify, whatever your aggregate is.

How Merit Lists Use Your Aggregate

UHS ranks every applicant by aggregate and fills seats on merit cum preference. You list colleges in order, and the system gives you the highest choice your merit can reach. The policy says admissions finish after three or more merit lists.

Seats left in later lists are filled through upgradation. A student who joins one college can move up to a preferred college if the merit allows it. Run the MDCAT aggregate calculator before you set your preference order, so the list matches your real chances.

Private colleges are admitted through the same merit list in Punjab. The policy asks a selected student to deposit Rs 600,000 within three working days of the merit list. Missing that deadline gives the seat to the next candidate.

Pass Marks and Eligibility Rules

The 2026-27 policy sets the MDCAT pass mark at 55% for MBBS and 50% for BDS. On a test of 180 that means 99 marks for MBBS and 90 for BDS. An MDCAT result stays valid for three years from the date the test was held.

You also need at least 60% marks in HSSC or an equivalent 12th grade result. Biology and Chemistry are compulsory, with Physics or Mathematics as the third subject. The merit calculator warns you if your FSc percentage is below 60.

Hafiz e Quran marks are not added for MBBS or BDS admission. The policy cites the PM&DC Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education Regulations 2025 for this. A level and other foreign results need an IBCC equivalence certificate before you can use them.

Finding the MDCAT Score You Need

Choose MDCAT marks needed in the first menu. Enter your Matric and FSc marks, a target aggregate and the MDCAT total. The MDCAT aggregate calculator gives the marks needed for your target and for four common targets of 85, 88, 90 and 92.

Look at last year's closing merit for the college you want and set that as your target. If the answer says above full marks, the target is out of reach with your board results. In that case aim for a college with a lower closing merit.

Other Admitting Universities

This page checks the Punjab notification for public and private colleges admitted through UHS. Other provinces and universities publish their own admission policy each year. Open the prospectus of your admitting university and compare its weights with the table above.

If the weights differ, use Custom weights in the MDCAT aggregate calculator. The same goes for a test with a total other than 180. Type the total from your result card in the MDCAT total box.

Common Mistakes When Calculating Merit

  • Using the FSc total of 1100 when your board marks out of 1200, or the reverse.
  • Adding Hafiz e Quran marks that the current policy does not allow.
  • Rounding each share to one decimal before adding, which a good merit calculator never does.
  • Using an old formula from a coaching site instead of the latest admission policy.

Check your totals on the result cards before you trust any merit calculator. A wrong total changes your merit by whole points.

Final Thoughts

Your aggregate decides your college, so use an MDCAT aggregate calculator that works the same way as the admitting university. Use the official 2026-27 weights, keep four decimals and read the pass marks for MBBS and BDS. Then compare your result with last year's closing merit and plan your preferences.
