How to Use the UAF CGPA Calculator
Pick the first mode to work from course marks. For each course choose the credit hours and type the marks you got. The total is 20 marks per credit hour, so a 3 credit hour course is out of 60.

The UAF Quality Point Table Explained
The Controller of Examinations publishes the UAF quality point table on the university website. It lists the points for every mark in courses of 1 to 5 credit hours. Our UAF GPA calculator follows the same pattern.
- 80% or more earns the full 4 points per credit hour.
- From 50% up to 80%, you start at 2 points per credit hour and gain one third of a point for each extra mark.
- From 40% up to 50%, you start at 1 point per credit hour and gain half a point for each extra mark.
- Below 40% earns no quality points.

Values in the official table are rounded to two decimals, such as 6.33 or 6.67. The tool rounds each course the same way before adding, so your total matches the printed sheet.
UAF Grading System and Letter Grades
The UAF grading system gives a letter as well as points. An A is 80% and above. A B runs from 65% to 79%, a C from 50% to 64% and a D from 40% to 49%.
Two students with the same letter can get different points. Marks of 39 and 45 out of 60 are both a B. However, the first gives 9 points and the second gives 11. Each row of the UAF GPA calculator shows both for this reason.
How to Calculate CGPA at UAF by Hand
The official rule is simple. Semester GPA is the sum of quality points divided by the credit hours of that semester. CGPA is the sum of all quality points from the first semester divided by all credit hours taken.
A Worked Example
Say you took five courses. Marks of 52 of 60 give 12 points, 45 of 60 give 11, 28 of 40 give 6.67, 33 of 60 give 7 and 9 of 20 give 1.5. That is 38.17 points over 12 credit hours, so the GPA is 3.18.
Now add a record of 3.05 over 54 credit hours, which is 164.70 points. The new CGPA is 202.87 divided by 66, or 3.07. These numbers are already filled in, so the UAF CGPA calculator shows the same result when the page opens.
That is how to calculate CGPA without guessing. Use the quality points printed on your transcript when you have them, because the rounded CGPA can shift the third decimal.
Checking Your Result on UAF LMS
Students see their marks and grade points on the UAF LMS portal after each semester. Copy each mark into our tool and compare the GPA. A small gap usually means one mark or one credit hour was typed wrong.
A course shown as 3(2-1) still counts as 3 credit hours and 60 marks. Enter the 3 in the UAF CGPA calculator, not the theory part alone. If a figure ever differs, the portal result is the official one.
