How Much Fits in a Code
The limit depends on the level. In byte mode, which this QR code maker uses for all content, a code holds up to 2,953 bytes at Low, 2,331 at Medium, 1,663 at Quartile and 1,273 at High. Accented letters and symbols take two or three bytes each, so a short message in another script can use more space than you expect.
A shorter link makes a simpler code with larger modules, and larger modules scan faster from a distance. Drop tracking parameters you do not need. If a link is long, shorten it first with a service you trust.
Size, Color and Quiet Zone
Print size depends on how far away the scanner will be. A common rule of thumb says the distance should be about ten times the width of the code, so a poster read from two meters needs a code of around 20 centimeters. A business card code can be much smaller, as long as the modules stay crisp.
